From Disney newbie to Disney dork in a few short years. Get to know one of the site creators in his own words.
Well Hello... I am Matt and I am the media guru, I think, of the creating pair. As I sit at my desk writing this, I am thinking about how I got here and where I would like to see this go. It is a cool intersection in my life and I am glad I have decided to share it with all who care to read. I guess it is good to give a little background on my life. I am rapidly approaching 40 with a wife and 2 kids. In my adult life, I work in the medical supply field and love what I do. Outside of my love of Disney, I enjoy hitting the links and following Indycar racing. This endeavor is giving me an outlet for something that I didn't necessarily see happening a couple years ago.
“As I watched her grow in the parks, I felt myself changing back to a kid.”
How Did I Get Here
I can't even begin to fake that I have been a lifelong visitor to the parks. I don't know that my family was ever in a position to make the trip from the Great Lakes area to Florida. I have always enjoyed Disney movies and shows and one of the oldest things I can remember is going to see The Little Mermaid with my Dad's mother on opening weekend. My first visit to Disney World would happen in 7th grade and honestly I don't remember much past the sunburn. Much time and life passed until my next trip and that is where this journey really begins. We were able to take my oldest when she was about two and a half with my wife's family. As I watched her grow in the parks, I felt myself changing back to a kid. From that trip, I was hooked and we made it a goal to try and get back every few years. Well, you know how that goes, it became we can do this every year, then, we could get there a couple of times a year. Each trip, no matter how much time between, I continue to learn and find new things inside and outside the parks to enjoy.
Where Are We Going
With every trip that I booked with my family, I felt like I was gaining knowledge when it came to the where, when, and why of #Disney. Instead of being stressed on booking days, I enjoyed them. I continued to research #DisneyWorld and our family trips became easier. We were doing more in less time and not feeling completely worn out each night. As Peter and I talked this through, we thought that we could not only provide a service, but provide honest information to help anyone gain confidence when they went to the parks. Over the next who knows how long, we are going to post videos, blogs, reviews, trip recaps to not only share our joy, but to inform and explain what can be done within many budgets at the Disney properties. Hopefully, those who take in any of the media can take away tips and tricks to help them on their next adventure.
